| Subject: Question on "Aggro"-type supports Fri Jan 20, 2012 7:02 pm | |
| I played Zilean quite a while ago. I do believe some of you guys know how that went. Horrible. I also cannot play Lux support to save my life.
Seems like I need some pointers in attack-type supports, the kind which doesn't have heal and barely any shield. Should I outright attack all the way? Should I hang back and smack whoever comes close? Wot? | |

| Playing Aggro type supports is not about rushing into things or just being passive. Something u have to keep in mind is that you are primarily a support, if u fail to support your ad carry and team... you role has failed. aggro supports : Maokai, lux, morgana, zil, leona, ali, taric(abilty to dish out damage, snare or stun. It can greatly help you ad carry/team land a kill if you initiate well, also these heroes are naturally tanky, or have an escape mechanism that allows for survival) Hybrid supports : janna, karma, nunu, viktor, nid, galio, shen, kayle(Healing is more of what they do, they almost always do not stand infront, unless for special circumstances because they simply dont have the ability to tank that much. However they can become agressive is needed, and by that i mean using their skills to zone hardcore) traditional supports : soraka, sona(Infinate healing, and mana, movement speed buffs, large scale stun and gobal heals... these are the main supports, why i say that is because they can help the team in almost all situations from behind and never have to go infront) This is my clasification and these are the reasonings. With that knowledge, u now have to look at your ad carry play style as well as your opponent. if your ad carry is ajem1, be prepared to support his insane towerdiving playstyle at lvl 1 or 2. These types of players force the opponent to be extra cautious, if he is agressive you CANNOT be as agressive as him, you should pick the hybrid supports if u are confident in supporting or else pick a traditional support. If you ad carry is not really confident and doesnt know how to seize an opportunity, and aggro support would help, but that doesnt mean u are rambo. Eventhough zil can double bomb creeps, u shouldnt.. you should double bomb the ad carry (not the support, the support is less important because the ad carry can turn and chase u or your own ad carry) speeding up is another thing that needs some map awareness and math, too slow and pointless too fast and cant catch up or run away. Same goes for your ulti, need alot of priorities. hope it helps | |
