Uhh What item is useful for supports?

depends on which hero you use and how your team is playing

the core items are of course gp5 items : philo stone, heart of gold and kage lucky pick. i dont recommend blade of avarice... this should be obvious

In my opinion i think playing support as aura supports are the best as they benfit the team most..

soul shroud if u have casters or ad's that rely on cooddowns (vanyne and cait)

Shurelya's should be on all support for quick get aways, it should nvr be used to initiate a fight!

depending on the team, aegies, stark, will of ancients, is do able

i dont think supports should ever get Randuin's... this is because if u are looking at how much gold u have, the other items have better team effects.

If you want to know starting items:

faerie charm x1
Sight wards x 3
health potion x 2
mana potion x 1 (this is assuming you took the gold masteries)

One other thing... your boots should always be movement 5..

^ wut about cdr boots? for supports like soraka, taric

if you have soul shroud and Shurelya's, thats quite alot of cdr.. i believe the most team fights end in like 30 seconds on the longer side, average i wuld say 20 sec's and its over... then the running begins..lol

most skills from taric and soraka , takes about 10 seconds, having a 10% reduction only takes off 1 sec... i would rather be able to move and reach one end of the fight and heal and run to the other side and stun, or give mana... Also i believe that all teamfights should end in victory, not means why get into one ( excluding the chances of a gank that end up as a team fight)

with that in mind,, the result is either we ace of we are chasing a hero runing away, in where the boots 5 works better, because u can catch up to your other heroes or go disable, stun or whatever cc the heroes that are running away and help your team catch up.

If in Teamfights wouldn't the Movement 5 be negated?

I'm sorry if I got this wrong. It's because I only get that boots for Eve and Twitchy haha...

I do understand that in Ranked Elo people go for true support am I right?
Can I play AP Tanks as well? So I can have a balance of supporting, dealing damage and spanking

Would you recommend the support role to carry yourself in ranked or will you need a strong duo?

its not only for teamfights, which, if u get hit, then it goes to 2 movement...

running to lane, placing wards, all this type of things should be done as fast as possible, u should always stick to the ad carry, not wonder off. so the boots 5, help you do that quickly and get back to your carry.

Now as for ranked games, support roles should only support for one reason. Specializing is better than generalizing.. the top or jungle can go atmogs so yeah, you technically dont need to be a tank/ap/ support...

However there is the exception of taric and ali, those naturally are more tanky, hence getting aegis on them makes them more tanky...

I dont think you should get ap items unless you are palying ap soraka, which makes her heal really strong, but that is only after getting gp5 items and all..

one more thing about your 'balancing between dealing damange ect' you have other roles for that, and they need the kills not you....

if you solo q.... its a gamble to play support (especially if your new at supporting)

Having a duo would be good, where u guys can learn each others and know each others good and bad points.

If you solo q, i would suggest sona, ali or taric... i would take sona because the ulti helps win team fights if u can land it. janna is optional, but she can be tough, if you cant use her ulti well.
